Life lesson: Recognize dreams and listen to their messages.
Dog sleeping on floor

There were two of us. We were sitting at desks. We were in a spelling competition, no, a word comprehension contest. The words were lined up in columns. The competition hadn’t started yet, but I looked at the first word.

It was a word I had never heard of before.

The dog was pawing at my head. I had been dreaming again. I told the dog to lay down. She kept pawing at my head until I was fully awake. Then she laid down next to me.

This dream was not pleasant, but not as devastating as the one from yesterday morning.

We both settled down and went back to sleep.

The dog was pawing at my head. I guess I had been dreaming again. It wasn’t much of a dream, as it was not re-callable. I told the dog to lay down and again she kept pawing my head until I was fully awake, then she settled down.

We both slept until it was time to get up.

Dreams have a purpose. They solve problems, organize events and put things into perspective. They are an allusion to unrecognized daylight situations.

I don’t know what the dreams are telling me. It has been a long time since I had a succession of dreams to the extent that a dog is waking me. She has done that in times past when I had disturbing dreams. Now she is on duty again.

I guess it is as important for dogs to have purpose as it is to humans.

Re-entering life presents challenges. I just don’t know what challenges to which these dreams are referring. I hope I can figure out what the dreams are about. The dog can then go back to keeping track of all outside activity during the day and guarding the house.

She is such a small dog to have such a big responsibility.

She is sleeping now, having worn herself out with nighttime chores. I hope she has happy dreams.

I am awake and watching a beautiful sunrise. For now, I will watch over her while she catches up on her sleep.

Let me know how your challenges are doing. I care.

Sincerely,

Lynn Brooke
